FIR Quashing

High Court petitions to quash FIRs and criminal proceedings that amount to abuse of process.

The High Court may quash an FIR or criminal proceedings under its inherent powers (Section 528 BNSS, formerly Section 482 CrPC) where the allegations disclose no offence, the case is manifestly malicious, or the parties have genuinely settled a largely private dispute.
