Property Law

Partition Suits

Division of jointly owned or ancestral property among co-owners and heirs.

Where co-owners or heirs cannot agree on dividing a property, any of them may file a suit for partition. The court determines each party's share and divides the property by metes and bounds, or orders its sale where division is not practical.
